The TubeMe Chair at the Furniture Fair

The TubeMe Chair was first exhibited at the Stockholm Furniture Fair 2011 by the Danish Design School. The exhibition was called “Moving Textures” and presented 20 new playful ways of creating textile furniture. The furniture were exhibited in wooden boxes in a container environment, to show that the furnitures are made by student that is on their way to get shipped out on the market. Soon out of the box!

The textile furnitures was a result from experiments of various traditional textile techniques such as knitting, macrame, upholstering and plating.

The TubeMe Chair is inspired of unfinished basked braiding, when the willow branches is not yet cut, standing out from the basket. You are supposed to interact with the chair, make your own braiding with the foam tubes or choice your personal combination of the different textiles.
